Nicholas County Public Library is pleased to announce a new partnership with Driving-Tests.org, one of the nation’s top sites for driver’s license practice tests. The partnership will strengthen the library’s mission to be a vital gateway to information.
ABCmouse is the leading and most comprehensive digital learning resource for children ages 2–7. With more than 7,000 learning activities and 650 lessons, the standards-based ABCmouse curriculum is available on all NCPL computers. This service is only available while visiting the library.
Large-scale research studies assessing the effectiveness of ABCmouse have concluded that ABCmouse accelerates learning and helps children make significant gains in early literacy and math skills.
The Nicholas County Public Library Children's Library has added two (2) AWE Early Literacy Computer Stations to its list of services. These computers are stocked with more than 40 games that build skills in reading; words and phonics; science and nature; math and problem solving; reference, music and arts; writing and computer skills; and social studies and geography. These colorful, touch-screen computers are great for kids between the ages of 2-12.

LearningExpress Library features online tutorials, practice tests, and eBooks to help patrons of all ages. It offers job search and workplace skills improvement, skill building in reading, writing, math, and basic science, career certification and licensure exam prep, college and grad school entrance test prep, GED® test prep, and more.
Adult Core Skills
Adult Core Skills center helps adults achieve their personal, education and career goals by offering resources to help them improve their basic skills in reading, writing, and math, and prepare for the U.S. citizenship exam.

The resources here provide skill-building for classroom and homework success. The school center helps students in elementary, middle, and high school prepare for important tests, get extra help with assignments, and boost their skills in important subjects.
